For the past two weeks I’ve been enjoying some much needed downtime after Boston. It was my first marathon and went as well as I could have hoped for, so that makes resting a little easier. I still struggled to find ways to occupy the extra time, though. I’m used to training using up all of my time and energy, so when the training stops it’s really hard finding ways to stay busy. Clint has been teaching me a thing or two about mountain biking. We beefed up my 12 year-old Haro with some new brake-pads and clip-in pedals. My bike is getting stronger in its old age. We tore up the north and south Bald Mountain trails that I’ve never been on before. It was great to do something different and I’m pretty sure Paint Creek Bikes is offering me a sponsorship now (not true).

Other activities included a Dexter TV show marathon, my first Tigers game, a concert in Detroit, and a dumb blog entry(this). After awhile though, even all this stuff wasn’t cutting it and things started to get weird. In the past 5 days, CVSM has lost TWO copy-machines for unclear reasons (video evidence here:  for Brendan’s Video and Amanda’s Video Click on name;). It seemed to me like they were working just fine.

Anyway, I’m glad to say that I just finished up my second run back with roommate and Hansons teammate Drew Polley. I feel heavy and terrible but it is definitely a great feeling to be back doing a little bit of running again.

(Working on my core strength during some downtime at work.)
